Training Partnerships

For over 10 years "The Training Partnership Ltd." has worked with the EU’s "Leonardo da Vinci Mobility Project" specialising in two major fields: International Work Experience/ Internships and International Group Visits.

Currently this scheme is available to employers in the Plymouth, Exeter or Torbay area but it is open to Colleges and Universities right across the South West. If you would like to know more about how your organisation can get involved please contact Ian Smith on 01803 290222 or email

The "Leonardo da Vinci Mobility Project" is an EU initiative dedicated to strengthening the effectiveness of EU businesses. It does this by encouraging, and funding, students to undertake work experience/Internships with trans-national organisations, for the purposes of both acquiring transferable skills and contributing their existing skills to UK businesses.

Participants are selected in their home country and prepared for their "Work Experience" via a programme of English language training and cultural knowledge. They are then allocated to a UK Provider, such as "The Training Partnership Ltd." whose responsibility is to match each applicant with a suitable local employer and arrange a period of monitored work experience – commonly between 1 to 6 months.

During this phase the participants work on Projects determined by the employer and are treated as an employee. Accommodation, subsistence, flights and other residual costs are also funded. There is no cost to the employer! At the end of their work experience, the individual progress is evaluated and the results are then fed back to the European co-ordinator. It is worth noting that the training partnership has also sent over 400 UK applicants to the EU to undertake the same type of vocational training.
