Do you have a requirement for NMR services?

There are a number of organisations with NMR facilities in the South West and we may be able to help you find the right facility for your work. For example, one regional organisation offering a complete NMR service has 2 modern high-field Bruker Avance (400MHz and 500MHz) Spectrometers, both Z-gradient equipped that allow the full use of modern multidimensional and multinuclear NMR techniques upon a broad range of NMR sensitive nuclei. They have a wide selection of available probeheads and shaped-selective pulse capability and together with scientists experienced in the interpretation and the design of advanced novel multinuclear and multidimensional experiments, ensure a valuable contribution to trouble-shooting and complex scientific investigations. For further information on NMR service in the area please contact BioApproaches HERE

Introducing Bioscience for Business – a vital network for anyone interested in the commercial exploitation of bioscience

Bioscience for Business is one of a number of Knowledge Transfer Networks, originally established by the DTI in 2006. Following the July 2007 reorganisation of central government, Bioscience for Business became a programme of the Technology Strategy Board, an executive non-departmental public body. The Technology Strategy Board is funded from the public purse but operates at arm’s - length from Government with the key remit of accelerating business innovation.

Bioscience for Business exists to promote rapid development of a knowledge-based bioeconomy that places emphasis on low environmental footprint processes using renewable raw materials. It is also promoting exploitation of the massive potential that resides within nature’s gene pool for generating new, cost-effective products and processes for a wide range of industrial, commercial and consumer applications. It operates on a national basis, but with strong regional links and within a context that recognises the strong international dimension to technology development and business operations in the bioscience area.

Bioscience for Business helps a broad range of UK bioscientists identify how biotechnology can unlock the market potential of applied research in the biosciences. The network integrates academic, industrial and business communities that have not previously interacted closely. This multi-disciplinary approach, combining the knowledge and expertise of all stakeholders, offers opportunities that will benefit both a wide range of business sectors and society more broadly. Membership benefits include:

  • Access to information on Government, Research Council and European funding calls and programmes in the biosciences

  • A ready-made targeted community for the dissemination of news, press releases, publications and requests

  • Independent advice and integrated connections across supply chains

  • Information on forthcoming workshops, conferences and road shows

  • Regular newsletters and updates on developments in the Biosciences

  • ‘Webinars’ – interactive sessions delivered over the internet - providing information on contemporary topics relevant to the bioscience community

To register with Bioscience for Business visit www.biosciencektn.com and follow the simple on-line registration programme to become part of a diverse and active community intimately involved in the commercial application of bioscience.
