South West Innovation Forum 18th May 2007, 10am – 2.30pm The Medieval Hall, Salisbury
On behalf of the South West Science and Industry Council you are invited to the next Innovation Forum, held at the exquisite Medieval Hall in Salisbury on 18th May, 2007.
The latest in this successful series of information events provides businesses and R&D-focused organisations with essential news on the funding and support available to bring innovative ideas to life in the South West. The Forum also gives people a chance to meet and share experiences with similar businesses and to have one-stop contact with Business Advisers.
After an introduction from Nick Buckland, one of our members and Deputy Chairman of the South West RDA, the day will be split into two. In the morning; the technology. There will be demonstrations of the exciting innovations that are emerging from the South West’s technology sector and a glimpse into how this technology is arriving to market, a session led by Ploughshare Innovations.
After a buffet-based networking session, the afternoon will focus on the funding. We will investigate FP7, the new European scheme which bundles all research-related EU initiatives together under a common roof, and then provide information on the DTI’s Grant for R&D, the work of Great Western Research, and the DTI’s Technology Programme.
Places are free, but limited and likely to be in demand. If you are interested in attending the event, please contact a member of the South West RDA Innovation Team on 0117 933 0293.
Yours sincerely
Colin Green
Chairman, South West Science & Industry Council
