Gala Dinner 2007

Introduction:

The South West Region has a thriving and vibrant Biotechnology community. This community is spread out over a geographically large area making attending every networking meeting a challenge for smaller companies.

Although it is difficult to recreate face to face networking in a virtual environment it is possible to allow ‘virtual guests’ to listen to and see the speakers and their presentations and in this case the interactive voting that took place on the night.

This event was organised by BioApproaches South West and co-hosted by the Innovation Relay Centre South West, NHS Innovations South West, the South West Regional Development Agency (SWRDA) and UK Trade & Investment. The evening was a unique opportunity for participating companies and researchers to debate the globalisation theme, as well as the links between the NHS, academia and the biotechnology and medical technology industry. The event also launched a pioneering 18 month programme of South West sector-focussed networking events, seminars and conferences.
